In the world of Dead Legends, there is no economy without the Frontiersman (formerly Explorer). This list has been updated with the latest methods of collecting materials while removing those things that were found non-functional, added nothing to the game, or made for high over-head on the Staff.
The Gathering skills have been expanded to include Farming and Trapping, with Gathering renamed to Foraging. Farming and Trapping will work the same way as the other Gathering skills, work for 30 minutes, spend 3 focus and report to the Trading Post to draw a card. These new gathering skills allow us to expand the material components list so that we can introduce more schematics for the Outfitter; cotton, hemp, cloth manufacturing, and a loom. We have introduced Farming early so you will be able to buy and use this skill at the August game.
To add Trapping, we had to remove Trapper. In doing so we made it so that a 'trapper' can gather animal parts without the need to actually build and set traps. We will be leaving traps in the schematics manual for those with trapping, as an extra means of gathering pelts. We also left in the Trap Run intent for those with Trapping.
We cleaned up the skills Stalk and Stealth so that they made better sense and were easier to understand. In doing so we have simplified the stealth mechanics but this also enhances Keen Senses to counter the stealth mechanics.
We have removed Trail Blazing from the Exploration Intent list. It was not serving its purpose and it was difficult to provide 'plot clues' on a consistent basis. This makes all of the intents resource generating.
We have also removed Play Dead from the system. This mechanic is impossible not to meta-game and consistently disrupts play so we feel it is best to simply not have it.
